2016 Highlander Limited Platinum AWD. We bought it new in Dec 2015. It had about 75k miles.

She was turning left on a green arrow out of a parking lot onto a state hwy, guy ran the light, she was able to turn right real quick to avoid a really bad collision.

Honestly, maybe or maybe not. I used to be an adjuster and if damages were 75% of blue book, yes. No idea if that percentage has changed over the years. Will depend on. current make and model. Have the adjuster look at it to see. If they are close to 75%, then yes, there will be supplemental damages found by a body shop.

So we’re looking at around 8mph damage.

That will be around $20,000 in damage. The car is probably worth $27,000 without looking, so that's going to be really close

I booked it out at about $27k to $28k. The trade in and private party value was essentially the same.

The guy that hit her was in a work truck. Ford dually with a flat bed towing a trailer. It appears that the front corner of the flatbed and the rear tires hit her. Someone from the company came and picked up the trailer, they had to tow the truck off.

It was pretty scary because she was with our two younger kids, her sister and two kids. Thankfully no one was hurt. A little shaken up though. I'm sure here and her sister will be sore tomorrow.
