And regardless, does it look better with or without some texture to it?

Laminate floor sucks. It looks fake, and doesn't feel solid when you walk on it. Has too much give.

Thank you. I have a family member fixing to get it installed over a tile floor. They’re very old so don’t care a whole hell of a lot, tho.

It's probably better than the equivalent from the 70's my parents had. If it is the best that people can afford then it is what it is.

Hell yes it’s trashy.

Screams poor.

Think it’s only in cheap apartments now.

It used to be trashy 40 years ago. Now it’s much better quality and easy to install yourself.

Depends on which product you get. Some of the top of the line stuff is really nice, the pergoish crap is exactly that. Vinyl planks, direct glue or floating is the trendy thing right now because of waterproofing and durability. If you've ever seen wet laminate you know why.

The new stuff with texture looks good and is durable as hell.

Don’t thank Cyborg, he couldn’t be more wrong. Lam flooring has come a long way. Excellent choice for most applications

I have never seen laminate floor that I liked, and I have recently done several major remodeling projects.

It is a matter of choice, so there is no right or wrong on the subject.

If it's not made by Pietra Firma, then it's all trashy.

Like most subjective things, there's no right or wrong opinion when it comes to laminate flooring.

If your lab stays inside very much, true hardwood will not hold up.
