A little jealousy now and then isn't bad. It shows the fire is still there.

No. It will kill a relationship. Trust is mandatory.

My folks have been married for 40 someaught years. I can tell you for certain they don’t get jealous. Probably haven’t since the 70’s.

No. A little is not okay. Jealously is lethal.

Is a little distrust okay?

I suspect you’re really really young and naive.

I don’t know. In their case I really don’t think there ever was anyone. In all honesty each probably thought no one else would put up with the other so why even worry.

I don’t see a need for personal insults, I’m not young, but one could certainly argue I am naive.

Not insults. Facts based on your statement.

When I was younger, I used to think it was good. I thought being over protective was a positive, and if the girl was jealous, it meant she cared more.

Now that I'm older, it's just silly. Life is MUCH better when you're comfortable, relaxed, and she trusts you 100%.

If I think I have a legitimate reason to be jealous then that is a sign I shouldn't be in that relationship. If you are dating a hot girl she probably gets hit on 15 times a day.

Maybe at first there will be some jealousy, but long term it's a relationship killer. Poster that talked about trust hit the nail on the head, you have to have trust and jealousy means you don't have it.

I find women cute when they are jealous, if they try to do something sexy to take your attention off of whatever they are being jealous of.

Not if they get irrationally crazy if you even talk to another girl. Or look at one. Those are awful.

I was once in a relationship with a woman who turned out to be extremely jealous as our relationship progressed. I saw this as a serious red flag and eventually ended it.

She did the old "I'm going to test him" thing one night when I was out waiting for friends to show up for some games of pool and a few beers. I got to the bar early and grabbed a table and a beer and was just knocking balls around when this very nice looking young lady came up and started talking to me. She wanted to play a few games and I said OK and then one thing led to another and before long she was hinting we needed to go someplace more private. I explained to her I was already in a relationship and didn't think it would be appropriate.

It wasn't until a couple weeks later my then girlfriend informed me she had set the whole thing up to see if I'd go for it. Well, that was that and I ended it. I don't have the time or patience for stupid games.
