I'm all highway driving and get 35 mpg. I wish I was commuting in the city more, I think id only have to fill up once a month if I worked in town.

Not a Chevy guy, but bought a 4 wheel drive Ranger instead of new f150. Didn’t need the towing capacity and it was about 10-15 grand cheaper.

I really like my '24 Colorado. It looks like a bay Silverado.

It is really up to what you need. I do not need a full sized anymore and yeah, the full sized price wise is similar, but you get the same turbo4 at that price with less bells and whistles.

Some people like to be comfortable when driving. Tacos were never even close comfortable. New ones are no more reliable than anything else. Old ones were only reliable because they had zero power.

That's damn good, and you still have the utility of a truck when you need it.

it's smaller and the Silverado/Sierra isn't much more in total cost.

When I had this decision to make in 2018, I was looking at fuel efficiency as well since I put a lot of miles on a vehicle for work. Ended up in an F150 with a 2.7 Ecoboost. Way more room, same price, and nearly the same fuel mileage. Unless you just have a tiny driveway or some other reason for a vehicle with a smaller footprint, I don't see how they make sense.

My 2014 Tacoma had a common issue of head warpage. Didn't even last 50K miles.

So what?

Yea, small bed, but works for me. I recently moved houses with it and had no problems. Can also easily throw 4x8 materials back there too (the tailgate folds down at a 45 and plywood/drywall can lay flat on the wheel arches and tailgate). I've even carried some 12' long baseboards and 10' 2x4s in that configuration on short trips.

I’ve driven all sizes over the years and enjoy my Tacoma. I’m 6’3” and I have enough room. Driven it out West on hunts multiple times.

I'd have one if I didn't need to tow a boat every once in a while.

Get a Tundra Crew Cab. You'll really never need to own another vehicle.

I would like one but it’s 4 banger, only.

The Ford Ranger can be had with 2 different v6’s.
One of them is 400 hp eco boost in the Ranger Raptor.

These smaller trucks have a size advantage.

I’m in the same situation. As someone else said, the Colorado is basically the same size as the Silverado was in that era. I have not been a fan of mid-sized trucks traditionally, but the Colorado is tempting.

There's already a solid population of folks who can't afford their current truck, fewer who actually need it, yet fewer still who actually use their trucks for anything a car can't do.

I've only driven trucks for 32 years other than 2 years when I had a Jeep. I rarely tow anything but I use the bed fairly often.

I don't like driving cars. It feels like I'm sitting on the floor and I don't need the seating capacity of a SUV anymore

ETA - they are stupid expensive now like everything else though

If I get another truck it will be midisize. No use for heavy duty.

I could probably step down to a midsized at this point since the kids are pretty much grown. I'll probably always drive a truck though.

If they sold that BYD Shark in this country, I would take a serious look at it.
