In 1993 I started out in 1979 F-100. I had to fill the oil and check the gas. I also bought it myself before I had a license. I would have pretty stoked if my parents would have given me a 4-Runner.

My first car was a 1996 Grand Marquis I received in 2002. Sucker was huge and had a V8 engine, so it could haul. Spacious back seat as well

No, it isn't trashy to give a used car as a 16th birthday gift. Dumb maybe, but not trashy.
It is trashy to have two vehicles in your yard (first pic and the last) that are worth more than your trailer home. Bonus trashy for everyone wearing jorts.
