Yep, mow when you want. It's your property. If the sun is up it's perfectly acceptable to start the day.
I agree with you. The closest house is 1.5 miles east on my side of the road. Across the road there isn't a house for 4 miles. I use our lawn service of mouflon sheep, Axis and Fallow deer to do the grass cutting. We open the three gates around our house early in the morning and close the gates just before dark. Sometimes it takes two days to get the grass cut depending on how much rain we are getting. We enjoy sitting on the porch drinking coffee or tea watching our lawn service and sometimes they bring their lambs and fawns to help with the work. It's a far better way to cut the grass than when I lived in Denham Springs for the first 27 years of my life. I don't miss having to cut the grass.

Many cities have noise ordinances for a reason and that reason is that it became fricking annoying to be woken up by some selfish a-hole that had to get the grass cut while others are trying to sleep

You can, but I prefer to do it around 6pm and beat the heat later in the day.
I recently started night mowing. My whole yard is lighted so doing it at dusk is perfect. Much cooler and less humid than in the morning.

Cranked mower at 8 and I am ready to start the grill

I cut at 7am baw. Forget "courtesy" to neighbors, let them come and cut when its 90 at 9am. Too freaking bad

Started at 630 this morning but I don't have a neighbor for 1/4 mile.

Got started power washing patio and doing lawn around 7:30 this morning. By 10:30 when I finished I was a little too warm
Nothing better than cooling off with a hose after working outside I swear

My immediate neighbors are all retired so there are usually jokes shouted across the yard back and forth about “sleeping in” if someone doesn’t start at least close to 8… I like knowing my neighbors and I like my neighbors so if it was a different situation, I’d probably adjust my timing if possible.

Yes 8am is appropriate start your engines time

Same here. 6:30 wide awake every day.

I will absolutely cut grass before 8am. People will get TF over it.
I use a loud floor fan in the bed room when i sleep so i don’t even notice the garbage truck going down the street. So my next door neighbor could use a chain saw at 6am and i would still sleep just fine

Cut at 11:00 am in BR and then put down some Site One Lesco Nos Plus 24-2 11 right before the rain. Perfect !!!

Got shite to do today and trying to beat the heat. Blades down at 8:30 fair game?
You asking the OT if it’s OK to mow at 8:30 is pretty cuck in my book.
Posted on 6/28/25 at 5:42 pm to WaydownSouth
Yes, it’s fair game, but grass is usually really wet with dew at that time. Makes a bunch of wet grass clumps and that wet grass sticks to the underside of the mower
Best time to grass for your body and the grass is late afternoon/early evening
