I don’t agree with you totally. EBR is already surrounded by school districts that are performing at a much better system. Ascension, Livingston, Central & Zachary school districts are performing much better than EBR already. I don’t think being next to SG if it happens will benefit them in any way other than they would have to cut out a lot of fat at the top of the school board. That would be a positive I guess. That being said I hope St. George happens

Has it improved at all since the first St George incorporation effort? Any new schools built in the southern part of the parish? Anything at all beyond lip service?

Lee High is an improvement but for the southern part of the parish no. Look I'm not opposed to St George at all. The goal of improving EBR and building a St George ISD dont have to be mutually exclusive at least not imo.

As long as federal $$$ is directly tied to BS test scores, the answer is no. They "teach" these kids how to pass certain tests instead of teaching them the subjects. Combine that with 70% of parents and kids that only go to school for free food and babysitting and the answer is, hell no.

But its not the money, EBR has plenty of that.

this is 100% true

All I need to see is the amount of property tax I'm paying to the EBR school system. It's mind blowing and infuriating how little result we get for the money we pay.

This is why "St. George" was a legitimate chance of happening this time. People are fed up with the same old B.S.

according to EBR people it is racists to want to build a ISD. the St George folks first only wanted an ISD. When that was shot down hard by EBR the next route for an ISD is to create a new city.

How do you improve a school system when half the parents and students don't give a shite?

Tie the kids improvements in school to to their welfare check

Raise the minimum GPA for school entrance and eligibility. Zero tolerance conduct policy. Those that cannot abide by either be sent to retard school.
