I know some of the non-football minded people are planning on playing drinking games
drinking games... Sounds like Justine big, immature football party.

Drinking games lol.

20 people in a two bedroom apartment seems like a little much even without babies there
Unless it's 20 supermodels, that sounds like the last place in the world I'd want to be, friends or not.

Simply put, I just don't buy into the concept of sheltering a baby in fear of it catching something

It's just because newborns 6 weeks old and younger DO NOT have a developed immune system yet. They are too young for many of the vaccinations they need so they also have no protection. I've cared for many newborns that young that ended up in the ICU with a simple respiratory virus they caught from someone because at that age...their little lungs couldn't handle the virus. Babies that age have even DIED from things that show up as a basic cold in adults (ex: RSV).

The worst place for a baby to be is a daycare, yet a lot of parents pay upwards of $150 a week to drop our babies off while we work. Daycares are like Petri dishes of infectious disease.

But those babies are typically not 6 weeks old and younger.

Nurse, with all due respect (and I respect your opinion based on the fact that you do this for a living) - we have managed just fine bringing our kids to events like a Super Bowl party. Even as a two week old newborn
Process vs Results

Just because you did it and nothing happened doesn't mean it was a good idea.

It's simply not a good idea to bring a 2 week old around 20 people.

Screw em. They'll have a sick kid in a few days and get what they deserve. Sorry the baby has to suffer for their selfish, poor parenting skills, but so it goes.

But what about the poor baby that gets sick?

My concern isn't for the parents...it's for the baby.

I believe you are the immature mid 20 something hanging out with that many people in a small apartment.

I brought my kids to parties like that when they were young but then again we acted like adults as did my friends.

Not just me. Literally every person I know who has had a newborn took it out to do stuff. But whatever.

Immature is the time I saw this completely trashy friend of my cousin's being her two-week old infant to French Quarter Fest, but this woman was the epitome of trash. Not fake OT trash.

I don't see the problem with a SB party. I would imagine they would stay for a little while to socialize and then head home.

Your friends will have more babies in the future, not less, ou are warned.

And a 2 week old won't give a frick where it is as long as when it cries it gets picked up and fed.

You are going to have to learn to interact with kids sooner or later. Ask to hold one in between games of flip cup.
