Am going to a Super Bowl party tomorrow and was talking with the host. They're pretty excited and are expecting it to be a boisterous event. I asked whose coming and the host named mutual friends (all mid 20s) and then added "a few couples and their babies."

I don't know if I'm fricking wrong but that sounds like a terrible idea unless they are literially stopping by for just 10 minutes as a social call. But then what's the point?

Quit being a fricking buzz kill. They have babies and deserve to still get out and mingle with friends.

TL;DR

You're a bitch arse

I feel like you'd be handicapping yourself doing this. Unless the wife is super disinterested and will just be outside all day to avoid waking the baby? Or disinterested husband?

Just give them beer unless their little bellies are accustomed to hard alcohol.

By definition, babies are "immature."

What kind of rager are you expecting? It's a gathering to watch a football game between teams that most there couldn't care less about. On a Sunday.

Eta
I see you're probably in Georgia. That might change things, but probably not if it's at a residence.

It's a super bowl party. Not a damn rock concert

The most exciting thing that will happen will be the damn commercials

Punt, Pass and Kick

Make a game out of it. Competition between the guys.

I would say immature. I know one of the couples and the baby is 2 weeks old. I just don't be see what the point is and I'm sure a baby wouldn't like a loud environment. I know some of the non-football minded people are planning on playing drinking games.

Don't see the big deal. You can bring a baby to a little get together with friends and take them out of the house. You think a baby can't handle being around people for more than 10 minutes? I really don't even see where you are coming from.

What is this supposed to mean? Kegs and loud music?

20 people in a 2 bedroom apt.

Hey, as I said, I might be wrong. That's why I'm asking the question.

It's immature to be worried about people bringing babies. Just have fun. They won't make you change diapers.

20 people in a two bedroom apartment seems like a little much even without babies there. But the babies aren't the problem assuming people are acting like reasonable adults. They pop in. Friends get to see the babies. If the babies get fussy then they leave at half time. This is what it's like when your peers start having children. They don't have time to hang out all the time, but they can at least make an appearance and try to quickly catch up.

We brought our 3 week old baby to a wedding and now he's an a-hole, so that's probably a bad idea. Not your problem though.
