Is having kids worth it?

What says the OT?
I’m married and undecided on wanting kids.
I’ve been putting it off a few years, figuring I’d change my mind. So far I haven’t.

If you don’t know for sure you want kids, don’t have kids. Kids don’t deserve parents who don’t want them

Absolutely! Having them with the right person matters alot, but in general absolutely. I can’t remember life without them.

Yes for me. To each their own though. You don’t seem to really want kids so no for you.

Kids are incredible. Such a gift.
The rewards far out weigh the sacrifices.

110% dude. Without a question. There are very hard days in the beginning, however after about 6 months (for me at least) it has been a breeze. My boys bring so much joy and happiness into my wife and I's life. My oldest, nearly 2, is my absolute best friend and I cant wait to watch him grow up. Do it, without hesitation.

I am 51 now, and wife and I are not lucky enough to have kids.
Wish we did.

It's the only thing 'worth it' I've ever done. But everyone is different. I have multiple degrees, started businesses, broken 80, bought homes, traveled and experienced much I'm grateful for. I'd trade everything in for my kids. Something extremey rewarding and purpose giving that you can't really explain.

Life would be pointless for me without kids.

I agree.
I love my parents but they’re the prime example of people that didn’t need to have kids with one another. Stayed together for us.
Made me and my siblings’ lives a living hell.

Worth it? Absolutely. Anyone who answers otherwise because of inconvenience is a terrible parent.
That said, it's not a trivial matter and I respect married adults who take it that seriously and choose wisely far more than I do the ones who look at it as a trifling matter and who wind up saddling society with net negative citizens because they failed at being mature adults.
There's rarely ever a "right" time, but don't get sucked into the delusion that it's perfectly normal and safe for women to start getting pregnant in their late 30s. It's not. Western society needs, literally, for its natives to have more children in nuclear households. It's serious business (as it should be for responsible adults) but it's so worth it that I don't remember life before them.

Yes even though some days you want to run away

I never wanted kids and waited until I was in my 40s and now wish I’d started earlier and had 1 more child. My kids are the only thing I like about the world right now.

Absolutely worth it. My boys are 11 and 8 and they are all that matters in my world. Couldn't imagine my life without kids, other than having a ton more money and free time lol.

Asking whether it's "worth it" is the wrong question entirely.
The real question is, are you up for it? Are you ready to change your life to be a good parent?

Only if you want a purpose.

Adding another reply. I've loved all 3 of my kids since before they were born but this season at LSU Florida my 7 year old screams "single high safety, take a shot!". He got so many high fives and compliments. That shite was so worth it.
