They understand how the mind works. Does that make relationships easier for them?

Dated a girl with a degree in psychology and I can say definitely not.

That bitch was crazy, and tried to analyze every single damn thing I said to tell me what I really meant.

No. When I said "It's over and GTFO of my life" that is exactly what I meant

No. They know we are fricked up before anyone else sees it.

I think 75% go into the mental health field because they already have mental/personality issues.

Do we really though?

And no, dating isn’t easier. We put up with the same shite and have the same quirks as any other person.

It’s also MUCH easier to give advice and help someone else with their mental health issues then applying that to your own life at times.

One of our good friends is a psych. I asked this when we were all at dinner one night. She said her husband actually hates it. Then he said she's always trying to read into stuff that doesn't mean anything. He said it has gotten better over the years but it was pretty rough in the beginning.

Psychiatrists/psychologists are some of the most damaged people there are.

Dating them can be more difficult because of that inherent desire to control and manipulate.

Same with lawyers. Whatever qualities they use for their jobs can be weaponized against you.

That's a good way to screen out suitors. Sometimes, people pursue degrees in psychology so that they can understand why they are the way they are.

Dated a psych professor exactly twice, hoped my impression of being a little off on date #1 was just a fluke, unfortunately the 2nd date solidified it. Way too much crazy in that girl to tolerate.

No one understands the mind of a woman.

I dated a woman who was a family counselor with a psych degree. From outward appearances she had her shite together. But after the 2nd date I realized she was fricking nuts.

Which has nothing to do with the ability to control their own or the minds of others. There are plenty crazies in those fields.

I know 5-6 people in psychology practice. They are all what I would call extreme and unstable.

I think that profession draws in crazy people more than the average.
