That’s normal this time of year there. I grew up spending summers in El Paso y’all don’t know heat till you spend a day in El Paso during July. 115 by noon easily.

July and August are really hot in some climates

The last really bad heat wave we've had in South Louisiana was in 2007. 102-103 degrees for 10-12 days straight with 98% humidity. Otherwise we've just had a few random days of 97-98

That was the year I decided to move back to the south. Moved away again the next spring.

My kid has 7 years of school left. I promised my wife that I wouldn't move her unless we had to for work reasons. Otherwise I'm heading for some cooler weather at 47.

Some people like the heat and humidity. I think it's the pit of misery.

My kids grew up military brats. They're usually ready to move before I am which has been a plus.

My ideal climate would be somewhere near where you are. Not sure if I'll ever convince the wife to move that far away though.

I'd prefer some terrain and for the temp to stay between 25-85 most of the time.

You would be happy here.

It's a tough sell. This is as far as you can get from LA and still be in the lower 48.

I think it's bad, but not as bad as having to shovel my driveway out of the snow for 4 months of the year.

How is it hotter in north Texas than south Louisiana? You’d think it would be hotter in BR or NOLA than DFW.

That's not the only two choices, though.

Threads like this separate real Texans and newbies. My time in the Great State of Texas dates back to 1981 and this Summer has been nothing.

A normal healthy person should have no issues at all and you should fare much better than in the humidity of the Gulf States.

Furnace Creek in Death Valley will be aptly named next week.

You and I have discussed this before but I spent a summer in Bellingham in 1997. I loved the weather. It would be a culture shock for my gump wife I think.

I'll probably try to move her to Asheville or someplace like that depending on family situations at the time.

Her parents live in the Birmingham suburbs now but they are in bad health and her only other sibling is a worthless trashy sister. You don't want pics

Yeah, I remember now. Asheville seems to be more realistic in your case. Should give you most of what you're looking for.

I was there today. Walked about 6 blocks at 8am. I'm not a big sweater and I was ball dripping. It's bad. I gave my Uber driver 1 star because she caught a red light and made me wait outside for 2 minutes.

Because that's not how weather works, that's how.

Kind of like when everyone was going crazy last winter over the fact that it was colder in Baton Rouge than in Anchorage.

But sometimes being farther north makes it cooler than being somewhere down south
