It's definitely trashy, per Bourdain.

quote:

Brunch is nothing but a "horrible, cynical way of unloading leftovers and charging three times as much as you ordinarily charge for breakfast," he said. "It's the least popular shift for cooks. I personally hate it. I've all sorts of deep, highly traumatic memories of my years cooking brunch. ... Hideous."

Brunch
CrossFit
Craft beer
Craft cocktails
Flat bill hats

All of the above people said were fads and would go away soon, yet they’re all around and still thriving. Perhaps they’ll all be around forever?

Man, I miss that. Back in the day, my boss' side gig was music and he was MC of the House of Blues Gospel Brunch. Once every month or so, I told him I wanted to bring a girl to the show, and he'd leave two tickets for a table up near the Elwood Bar for me at the will call desk.

Ironic that a brunch featuring God's music led to a lot of boozing it up on mimosas and fornication.

I went to brunch at a well known buffet in NOLA and we were one of the only white groups.

Yeah New Orleans and Atlanta, two of the best represented cities on this board, are probably the worst people to try this argument on.

Hell Houston and DC too I bet.

I was at brunch in Berkeley a few years ago and a group of protestors showed up. Prevented wait staff from taking orders, got in faces of customers and called us all racists because brunch was for white people.

This was during the peak of the BLM stuff though. Not sure of brunch is still racist.

Not racist, but Sunday morning brunch is for heathens and the depraved. And no one wants to get up and ready in time for brunch on a Saturday. Now if we’re talking housewives in tennis skirts on a weekday, pounding mimosas before heading to Target, that might be a bit racist. But I have no problem with liquored up hot milfs at Target at lunch.

I hope so. I love brunch, and a bunch of...Atlanta Hawks fans would ruin it.
