The side street issue is directly related to BR being unable to build a street over any kind of creek.

Poor infrastructure planning.

and we haven't learned from this...when they built Perkins Rowe they didn't widen Perkins until after construction was complete...it should have been done prior to it being completed.

It has more to do with the "planners" that laid it out way back when that for some stupid reason didn't think using a grid design would make sense.

The only way to fix BR is to bulldoze everything and start again.

Just go around on Congress to Bunker Hill, will put you on a red light to turn right onto the interstate from College.

I've driven in NOLA, BR, Birmingham (280), Atlanta, and Honolulu.

Nothing has shite on Honolulu. No matter what time of day traffic is absolutely fricking terrible.

I probably hate driving in NOLA and BR the most though. People in LA just can't fricking drive for shite.

280 and Atlanta really aren't bad. There is lots of volume but they move pretty well.

65 south of Birmingham is becoming a huge issue.

All the LP and AP people commute into EBR. That's what is causing the traffic. I live in Baton Rouge city limits and my commute is under 12 minutes. You can't get a cheap arse house in Denham Springs and get to complain it takes you a long time to get into the city with all the other LP people.

The only redeeming quality about br traffic is br is small, so there is only a few miles of complete hell.

Ive driven in almost every major city east of the rockies, and a few west of them. For the size, br might be the absolute worst. The main reason i left that town

Probably because you live there and surface streets can get you anywhere without using the interstate. Eastbound on I10 out of the CBD used to be terrible, and don't let there be a stopped vehicle on the spillway.

Have these guys never heard of the concept of slower traffic staying to the right? They will drive completely oblivious to anything or anyone around them travelling at the same exact speed as the car in the lane just to the right of them. GDman that pisses me off.

I live in Jakarta.....but I have a driver. Jakarta traffic can be bad and if youve been drinking all night can devolve into a bad situation quick.
