My sister had one of those two seat coupes. After warranty she said no repair was under 2500. Broke often.

Mercedes and BMW are mild compared to Porsche.

Have had all three in addition to Audi, and disagree wholeheartedly. The Porsches I have owned have been significantly more reliable and less expensive to maintain. My last two (and current) daily drivers have been Porsche, and it is easily the German brand to choose in my opinion if you can find a car in their lineup that meets your needs. Critical for any vehicle to take care of the routines on the front end which can be managed more cost effectively if you have a trusted indy shop to do that work, or can some of it yourself.

After that, we found out that the water pump was buried in the engine. The radiator, the fan, the fan belts, and several otherv parts had to be taken out just to change a f*cking water pump.

Not trying to support imports here, but just how easy do you think replacing the water pump is on most vehicles today?

We're not talking about a 73 Chevy with a small block here.

*That would also have to have the belts removed...

From an 18 year long car salesman, stay away from German luxury cars if you don't want a bunch of maintenance and repair bills and get a Lexus or Acura.

Here ya go.....

I haven’t looked at any YouTube videos, however, I’m guessing that for a Toyota Camry it’s probably a DYI job for most guys who have any mechanical abilities.

And if you can do it as a DYI job, the cost of the water pump is $35-$40.

Most of these guys can't change their own oil.

They aren't diving into a water pump.

btw-I said most vehicles. Some are easier than others obviously.

horrible choice in cars

high maintenance and bad reliability

Lexus, Acura, Genesis, Infinity are all better choices than any of the German manufacturers

Don't do it. GLC 300 bought with 25K miles, 4 years later has 125K miles. Spent about $10,000 on repairs in 4 years. Check engine light comes on and its some minor issue but the engine has to come out to fix it. I will never buy one again. .

Dang, my wife is currently eyeing a GLC 300 and I’m dreading this exact scenario. Though I doubt she’d put 75k miles on it in 4 years. She’d struggle to hit 10k miles a year with her commute, so maybe we’d have $5,000 in repairs in 4 years…

You are kidding, right?

Mercedes and BMW bend you over and offer no lube! I've owned 1 Mercedes and 2 BMWs. My wife's 2018 BMW was quoted over $1K for an expansion tank and water pump that were leaking. $500 just for the parts. Got them from an online site sell OEM stuff for half of what the dealer wanted. They wanted to do an oil change.. politely told them I'd do it my self.

I’ve never owned one but I’ve heard that insuring a Mercedes is a lot more than a regular vehicle. Any truth?
