I’ve never owned one but I’ve heard that insuring a Mercedes is a lot more than a regular vehicle. Any truth?
Highly dependent on the model. Bi-Turbo Coupe likely yes.

SpotCheckBilly -Sounds like my friend's Mercedes. I don't know the model, but it's a big 12-cylinder sedan.
S-Class and it’s a beast.

New battery will run you $250. It’s a money pit. Unless you’re OT rich I’d look elsewhere.

If you want it, get it unless it’s totally financially stupid, get a good warranty with a service plan and drive it like an adult. But you came here to talk about a C-Class though?!

Headlight assembly for a 2022 Silverado is almost $1200 at the dealer.
eta-The problem with Euro cars isn't so much the cost of parts, although they are often higher. It's how often they need parts and service once they get some miles on them.
Mercs and BMWs are infamous for being "mechanically totaled" due to things as simple as valve seals. The seals themselves aren't that expensive. Pulling and tearing down the engine to replace them is expensive.
