The guy painted a nazi flag on his home as well as multiple confederate flags and wears some ridiculous confederate flag style cowboy hat thing. He is clearly either a racist or trying his hardest to appear like one for some reason.

Yeah, why do people keep saying this? Is anyone denying that its a dick move to fly a swastika? I mean really.

The issue is whether to ban it by penalty of law

Does no one read the Bill of Rights anymore?

I dont think that is the issue we are talking about because I'm not sure who in here has been in favor of or supported that. We all like the bill of rights lol.

Most people are railing on the "it's not racist or hateful cause of history" aspect

I guess my point is, who are we to know what's inside that guy's head? Yeah, we can call him a racist, we can believe he's a racist, but it's kind of like the people who identify as this or that. It's not really my place to tell you you're not this or that. If you want to identify as a moonwalking, Colombian midget, more power to you.

So people should be allowed to do certain things that will make them appear a certain way, but it is wrong for us to identify them just because they go out of their way to appear a certain way?

That's like saying if a guy sucks a lot of dick and has no sexual relationships with women, its no ones place to confidently say he is gay?

I get it man. Some interesting happenings of late.

And though we have butted heads in the past, it's all good. I am actually suspicious you may have some right leanings, lol.

"Just because I have the swastika and confederate flag, which together is used by white supremacy groups, but what kind of person would assume I am racist just because I have them all around my trailer".

You have to be realistic. Don't give me this shite about "well, we can't just assume he is racist".. Whether you are or not, if you appear to look like one people are going to think you are.

I am not going to put an Oklahoma flag outside my house, although I am a LSU fan then get made because people assume I am an Oklahoma fan.

I'm actually very right leaning on a lot of issues, but my desire to be an a-hole to strangers on the Internet far outweighs my desire to have those same strangers agree with me.

I guess my point is, how do we really know the guys a racist?

I mean, maybe he's just a retard. Ever think of that? He might not actually hate minorities. He could be a retard or trolling.

One thing I've never understood. If the guys a racist, and doing things that other people clearly understand to be racist, then why would he not just come out and say, "I'm racist"? Obviously if everybody's going to assume that he's racist anyway, why would he not just admit it? This tells me that he's not actually racist but he's doing it for other purposes. Attention, because he has a double-digit IQ or he's trolling.

The Buddhists used the swastika for over 1500 years before Hilter and the Nazis used the symbol.

And the symbol was brought to India by white guys from Europe. (Google the Aryan invasion of India). This is precisely why the Nazis chose the symbol - it's not like they were ignorant of its history.

And it turns out they were right about its origins. It is an old Indo-European symbol (probably of the sun) that was spread around the world in the bronze age through invasions and migrations. The Indo-Europeans originated in Ukraine/Russia about 6,000 years ago. They promptly invaded Europe about 4,000 BC. They invaded western China by about 2,000 B.C. and they invaded India in 1500 B.C. (Invasion may be too strong of a term - it was probably more like a migration where they engaged in warfare only where needed). And that isn't counting their expansive outposts in Central Asia (places like Kazakhstan).

However, the Germans mistakenly believed that all Indo-Europeans called themselves "Aryans." They didn't. That was only the branch that invaded India. "Aryan" is a Sanskrit word. Sanskrit is an Indo-Aryan language. And Indo-Aryan is a branch of the Indo-Iranian language tree. Indo-Iranian is related to all European languages (German, English, Italian, etc.) but is more distant to some than others. See the centum/satem shift in linguistics. Generally the Western languages (like German and English) are centum and the eastern branch is satem (Slavic, Iranian, Sanskrit, etc.).

Whatever the case, modern linguists know for a fact that all IE languages (European branches, Slavic branches, Iranian, Sanskrit, various languages in India) all originated in Ukraine or Western Russia at least 6,000 years ago. So the Germans were wrong about Germany being the heartland - it was actually Russia.
