I work with a guy that had his first child at 52 years old. His wife is 32 years old. I noticed in Baton Rouge, women feverishly want to get married and start having kids early. The polar opposite is true in larger cities where career trajectory takes priority first.

My wife and I have no kids. I regret it some days, but then I see the world they would grow up in and think how difficult it would be to see them have to deal with the way America is going.

What if they would have been the ones to set everything straight?

Which reminds me Lolo Jones is still available. OP should take a shot

That would be awesome, but my fear is the world is too far gone at this point.

I work with a guy in a similar position. He's in his early 60s and just had his first kid. I don't know about all of that. He probably won't live to see the kid graduate college and chasing a 2 year old around at that age seems like it would be tough.

I'm kind of glad we had kids in my 20s. It was a struggle financially early on but I'm about to be 44 and the youngest is in HS. We'll probably be empty nesters in 3.5 years when we are still relatively young.

Easier than you learning grammar and how to form a sentence, I’d imagine

This is very true. Fake it until you make it.

Just make TODAY good. Do that every day and the next thing you know, you’ve had a good week, month, year, etc.

Go get ‘em, slugger!

No offense, but this line of thinking creates our problems. Or at the very least will exacerbate them.
I think putting more "good" people on the planet will tilt society towards the better.

Go to AA meetings.

I’m sorry, that’s terrible advice.

But seriously

Don’t call it quits yet. I married when I was 38 and my wife was 35. We have three healthy kids, big house, good jobs and live in a wonderful town with great neighbors. You may just need a change of scenery.

I read a great article about BR businessman Mike Wampold in the business report a few years back titled "The Right Moment." Long story short, he basically developed a strong faith in his life and was very patient with every choice he made. Didn't end up marrying or having kids until he was like 60+ I believe. Really wish I could link it because I feel like it had some great advice in it both business and family related. Everyone's journey is unique.

Dude you're 38. Go find a 27-29 yo single childless woman.
Seriously. As a female in this age range, I can say with certainty that there is an abundance of single women between 27 and 32. Like 50/50. Sure, some of them are crazy, but some of them have just been living life and focusing on a career.
