A Baton Rouge attorney who practices insurance defense has been suspended by the LA Supreme, interim suspension dated July 2, 2020. Case pending in US Federal Court, Middle District of LA. Possible charged with embezzlement. Anyone have details? I don’t know if I can post the name. Pacer only shows the Order.

It’ll be public record shortly. Or, it’s public record already, but it’ll be publicized shortly.

Probably on the Supreme Court website, no?

Just has the Order but no details on what led to the action. Middle District COC said the request for details had to be given records.

Not in house, from a firm.

In the Middle District? How do you he/she does insurance defense if no identifying info?

Disregard.
Looks like there are two gentlemen with similar names who practice in Louisiana.

If it’s who I’m thinking of, He turned in his license voluntarily. So it must be serious. He’s not fighting it.
We had a few fights in the past but he’s not a bad guy. I’m not disclosing his name so don’t ask.
The way Money flows through an insurance defense firm I find it hard to imagine how you can embezzle money easily.

Why was he reinstated to active status and then suspended in the same order?

There’s a few others on the left

The transfer to disability inactive you linked is not a breaking issue. Disability inactive is typically for substance abuse. The Supreme Court hasn't released a news release in more than a week. Odds are this will be released this week, whoever this is.
