John Tyler was the 10th President of the United States. He still has two grandsons alive today. President Tyler was born in 1790 and had his last child in his mid 70's. One of his sons did the same resulting in Harrison Tyler and Lyon Tyler Jr.
Harrison turned 87 last November and Lyon is currently 91. Harrison attended William & Mary and VTech.
John Tyler's last child did not die until 1947. Over 100 years after he left office.
Harrison
Lyon Jr.

Bill Clintons last kid is yet to be conceived and will live well into the next century.

Least known president of all time

Germans, but still mindblowing. Tyler was alive when Washington was president and his grandsons are still around.
My grandfather was born around 1920 and he's been gone for 20 years. I have an adult son. Hah

If I'm not mistaken, there is still a civil war widow alive. (Maybe recently dead)
Also the child of a civil war veteran

It should make people realize at 240 years old the US is just a tiny pimple on the history of civilization's arse. The rapid growth was astounding.

It isn't possible. A widow of a civil war vet could still be alive but not a civil war widow

A widow of a civil war vet obviously. Still cool

Yup. I was watching some history videos the other day and they were talking about how this dynasty lasted 400 years and then that dynasty that conquered them lasted 600 years.
That's rule by 1 line.
Crazy

CSpan did a series on the presidents a couple of years ago and found as many descendants as they could. It was interesting to see the resemblance or lack thereof. IIRC, Grover Cleveland's great great grandson looked exactly like him.

Just had to throw in that stuidass "Germans" didn't you? Even though it's a cool factoid which you even acknowledge. Well congrats, we're all impressed that you saw this here before.

I always love when a melt about a 'Germans' comes across at least 10 times as dickish as the Germans post to which it's melting over.

good choice. The run of 4 from Taylor to Buchanan were all nondescript, kind of like our last few will be looked upon in a hundred years.
