The few online single trans ppl I’m friends with are very forthcoming with their background. I honestly wouldn’t want to be in their shoes, I.e. being single and trying to date.

Aren’t you our resident TDer that’s transitioning? I’d be really interested on your take, when you date someone are you forthcoming from the start or is it obvious?

I am but I’m married. I’ve seen the texts from my friends between them and someone else about going on a date and they’ll say upfront that they’re trans, usually it’s “no thanks, not my bag, but good luck”. So usually the guys are at least nice about it.

When you got married have you already transitioned or was that brought up while already married?

I would feel extremely violated if it got sexual and I wasn't told.

No, I was married for 15 years before I came out and began my transition 1.5 years after that (started Oct 2018). Our relationship is solid and we love each other deeply. It’s difficult and complex though and we take it one week at a time. My wife’s a pretty incredible woman.

I’m surprised at he number of people in that thread that say no there isn’t a moral obligation to disclose it and some replied that it’s no ones business. The one caveat they’d use is for their own safety, they fear being beaten if the other person were to find out. That’s a strange life to live imo.

A natal woman who can’t bear children is never required to disclose that information, so there’s no reason why trans people should have to do it. You’re allowed to have sex and keep stuff like that to yourself. It isn’t an STD.

Not in California.

They acted like it was a big win. "YAY! We can spread a fatal disease and not tell our victims."

The warped mind of the liberal.

There nothing "interesting" about mental illness and deceptive behavior.

If you’ve been misled by the person, your dick does not know nor care. That is what this discussion is to me. This is not a political topic in this context. This is a real world, my dick is hard application. You are in that moment and you’ve been completely fooled. Would you like to know right then or a day or two before?

My vote is a day or two before. I will still be pissed and embarrassed. But it is a whole other level when your pants are off.

I was actually shocked by the first quote/paragraph of the OP. Seemed very reasonable for a trans person.

A woman who can't bear children is still a woman. A trans woman is not actually a woman; he is a man.

It's not remotely the same thing.
