Well when you try to move away they cry racism. When you try to st george they try and use legal system to block you.

So they try to make their problems your problem.

My neighborhood. There are no bums. If you want to live on my street you will have to spend $900,000 to $2.5 million.
The vast majority of this forum couldn't afford to live here even if they wanted to. Grady/Midtown school cluster is fine and now majority white.

The point is black folks exist...being tired of them (fatigued) is a you problem, not a them problem.....

Let's discuss this

Why?

Because what are you going to do about it? Lets say you are tired of black people (fatigued). What are you going to do about it? Move to Idaho? What's stopping you? (by the way there are black folks in Idaho). Is a black person blocking your exit? Doubtful. If not and you do not leave that's a you problem not a them problem. You are the only one who can control your choices, if black folks are tiring for you get away from them, of don't, your choice.

What about black people makes some folks tired of them? Acting foolish at a graduation? Don't go if it is that disturbing to you. Or ignore it. Or say something to them. Thats pretty much the choices you have. Nothing is preventing your doing any of the 3.

Even if black folks are hold meetings and discuss ways to fatigue white folks and annoy us unless something is physically preventing our leaving the area where there are black folks that is an us and not a them problem.

I understand being a victim is rewarding....it is comfortable to pretend like someone else is to blame for issues in your own life...but black folks have no control over how you react to them...if they tire you that's a you problem, not a them problem....you choose to let them tire you.

So???? Why do you care? Seriously, I have been called all manner of ill shite by all types of people in my 59 years. It stopped being a problem for me when I was about 10 years old and realized that people have opinions, people are different and some people are simply assholes and there is nothing one can do about it. You can't control what someone calls you, you can and should control your reaction to it...if it negatively impacts you thats a you problem, not a them problem.

This is a weird rant.

Ok, let's say you live in a place. People who traditionally have not lived in the place or really frequented it, begin to do so. The place becomes more contentious and violent. Your car gets broken into. The restaurants you like begin to decline and are overall less pleasant. There are some violent crimes around. Loitering increases. Businesses close down, leaving vacancies.

As a starting point, setting aside the question of whether those things are or are not the product of any given group - is it a "you problem" to feel fatigued or unhappy with those developments?

And do you apply this bootstraps attitude to the black community too?

I'm going to guess not

Yes because you have the choice to stay in the situation or leave. That is the only choice you have. If you choose to stay being put out by it is a waste of energy...you decided to stay.

I get it. The situation you are describing is no doubt real and is sad and aggravating and can be infuriating....but we can only control OUR actions and reactions....allowing other people that sort of control is not good for ones mental health...it may feel good but owning your decisions is a sign of an emotionally mature adult....

My guess is they’ve moved to/taken over many of the older, more affordable “starter home” suburbs/developments.

Many such cases in the sunbelt and a big factor in why the housing market is so terrible for younger buyers.

Not sure I know what that is but if you mean black people going into an apoplectic state and getting the vapors because some moron calls them a name yes, that is a black individuals problem...the idiot who called them a name obviously has enough emotional problems and adding more is not possible...black people are the only ones who can control their actions and reactions just like white people....

To be clear, there still aren't any nice parts of Atlanta that are predominantly black, but it's definitely true that Atlanta has an interspersed black middle (sometimes upper middle) class, including in nice areas.

Niskey Lake area near Cascade Road is pretty nice.

Well I read recently that blacks are having less children than whites for the first time ever. Just another example of how it’s getting weird around here. (Weird Genius reference)

Look I get the concept of not immersing yourself in misery forever, but you're not weak or immature for being tired/sad that your community is crumbling. I think that's a silly notion. Nor are you being immature by not leaving your own home. There is a pretty marked difference between being frustrated by changes to your environment and allowing your emotions/other people to control your entire life.

much of the OT cannot comprehend this.

Everyone’s answer to everything is moving. I’ve moved around a lot, so I’m not judging, but I still think it’s weird how so many here talk about it.

This is my point exactly...if it is controlling your life and you do nothing that is a you issue. I agree, it is sad. I have seen North Georgia transform from the foothills of Appalachia where, at least for white people, if you looked and sounded like the local people you were among the friendliest and most caring people on the planet, to what amounts to a refuge for people from the NE and Midwest who fouled their own nests to the point they were no longer habitable. Those are some of the most hateful disgusting people I ever encountered....I hated they turned North Georgia in Pittsburgh but there ain't a thing I could do about it.

New Orleans is decreasing in black percentage as well. In 2000 NO was 67% black. 2020 census is 56%.
