Of course.

however if you look to the story of the Creation in the Bible it specifically says the stars were created to tell time. Earth was made before the stars, and man was created in God’s image.

You must not be a Catholic. The Catholic Church is not like the Jehova's Witnesses, who have this fanatical belief that every word written int eh Bible was written by God, and so everything can be cross referenced and read as one single unified code. The Catholic Church reads the Bible in a more "inspired by God" way. This approach is in part because they know how it was written and how it was decided which gospels were in and which were out.

If you take creation myths as absolute truth, you are intentionally deluding yourself.

I'm not saying it was God, but it was God.

Its the same way many Christians accept scientific truths like Evolution.
But the bible speaks of god creating the animals as such and not mentioning evolution. Also the bible is gods word. If we go by the bible, isn't the Earth only like 6,000 or so years and the center of the universe?

No I’m not Catholic but the Bible also says it’s not to be interpreted.

Yes I believe in an all powerful omnipotent God that created the universe in 6 days. Everything you need to know is found in that Book.

You can't accept evolution and be a Christian unless you just want to throw out the book of Genesis.

No. Because true belief in God means belief in the bible. The bible says nothing of any life other than on earth. Jesus came to earth to save man, not Mars, Pluto, etc.

I'm a Christian (specifically Catholic)...I believe that living things evolve over time but I do not believe the earth was created by an exploding star. God created the earth and universe.

You can be a Christian and believe in evolution.

You can’t possibly be serious. If you are...please tell me you don’t have children.

100% false. Ken Miller is one of the worlds leading experts on evolution and a devout Catholic.

The Old Testament is allegory to help us understand the world around is. It was written for illiterate nomads. If you take it 100% literally, you are a deranged lunatic.
