Pray really hard and the church will never need insurance.

My dad was a pastor. His church got robbed about 10 times in 30 years. Make sure you are insured for break ins.

I learned from that article and the list that Youth Ministers should probably be married and not in their 20's, and there should be female leaders who these teenage girls can turn to. Also that apparently there are SBC churches in the UK.

If you have to keep posting articles to keep the sexual abuse target off of Catholics back, you need to re-read the definition of "desperate".

The target is and has been on the Catholic’s back because of the misunderstood practice of celibacy in the clergy, along with the actual abuse and cover-up which I abhor and do not deny. The point is that the Catholic Church was singled out for coverage from the beginning, while all other institutions and church ministries that deal with children were not given the same coverage.

The data is clear and has been reported, but those who refuse the understand the nature of child sexual abuse having exploded with the sexual revolution and not as an outcome of celibacy are the ones who need to educate themselves.

I used to work for one of the biggest church insurers in the country. Email me a j.blake39047@gmail.com. Happy to share with you some of the better agencies in Louisiana who could help you as well as thoughts about the big three insurers of churches.

Being the single biggest religious entity in the world is why they where "singled-out". That's how this works. Throwing everyone else under the bus is a desperate tactic, as is blaming the sexual revolution. The Greeks diddled kids way before the sexual revolution. shite aint new.

Brotherhood Mutual. We have had good response from them during the Ida aftermath.

Not just the biggest, but one of the very few that is hierarchical. So much easier for individual pastors and preachers to get a pass when there isn’t an international hierarchy to blame and to sue.

Why do you classify it as “throwing them under the bus”? Are these other religious (and non-religious) institutions not equally culpable and blame-worthy for their child abuse crimes, with rates equal to the Catholic Church?

You’re right! It’s not new!

And some cultures condoned it or at least didn’t make a fuss about it. It’s a sin that’s been around since the fall in the Garden of Eden.

But if you look at the prevalence in American culture, the numbers of child sexual abuse and other sex crimes skyrocketed during the sixties and the following decades.

It was a serious problem for churches when the sexual revolution took hold of the seminaries and the movement for modernity in the church as well as in the society at large. The numbers bear this out.

The good news is that the prevalence of child sex abuse in the church has dropped to a tiny number since the reforms instituted after the scandals were illuminated.
