Count your blessings. Many people don't have weekends off, so moving holidays to Friday or Monday don't help them at all. Many others have to work whether there is a "day off" holiday going on or not.

Just skip the fireworks and you should be fine.
I went to a party and had some drinks, skipped the fireworks and went to bed at a reasonable hour since I had work today. I was just fine. A little tired, but that was more due to my kid having a meltdown at 4 am.
