My daughter is currently a senior and has applied to and been accepted at LSU's business school. She is pumped! Does anyone know of any grants or scholarships that might be available to kids from Texas? LSU doesn't extend a lot of financial aid to kids not from Louisiana.
We'd also love to hear about any hot tips for a good student life. Have a dorm to recommend? Any extra-curricular activities that are a good way to get to know other students? Please let us know!

Best bet is to apply for a scholarship within the LSU Honors College. LSU is always looking to bring in talented students from out of state
Do her FAFSA as soon aas possible then go to:

quote:Yeah. Same here. I've never heard of students getting accepted into the college of business right out of highschool. We had to hit certain hours requirements, prereq courses, and maintain a certain gpa before applying after the first year or possibly later.

Has this process changed? When I was there, the business majors had to apply to the business college after freshman year.

I don’t reccommend dorms or off campus apartments. I suggest renting a house with 3 or 4 other people. Will be cheaper in the long run and more convenient for her.

There used to be a bunch of nerds that would run around with brooms between their legs, playing some game, on the corner of Highland and S. Stadium.

This is more like a work study. A lot of girls have claim to pay their way through college working here. Hope this helps.
Had one in my freshamn English class. But she was only a "cocktail waitress"
Surprisingly things happened and she never wound up graduating

I think freshmen are required to live on campus now.

I would say less than 10% of incoming freshmen are virgins. Best not to think about if you have girls.
