As other posters have said, it’s the orange and it’s not even close in my mind. The benefits especially as the game progresses to having the extra rolls into your property out of jail and the low costs to build with pretty high rewards makes orange the best monopoly on the board. If you can afford to add the red then it’s as close to a guaranteed win as you can get. Although, usually when someone establishes the orange monopoly, they take the game or make others quit before being able to establish red as well.

The best is being able to snag the light blues on the first handful of laps around the board

Then its over already because of how cheap it is to stack them up

This is a bad answer.

I’ve literally never lost Monopoly when getting those properties. It’s a fine answer, and I’m sorry you’re overcomplicating a children’s game.

Haha, just pointing out that I wasn’t playing against kids with this strategy.

Illinois. One of the Chance cards is advance to Illinois Avenue. Get the other two reds and you'll probably win.

Agree, you get a monopoly and both off those and you can't lose. I let everyone else fight over Boardwalk and Parkplace or use them in trade to get the Yellow and Green properties.

Orange and reds.

With purple & oranges a close second.

Strategy should be to start loading 2 adjacent colors with houses.

In the late stages of the game, it’s best to be in jail and collecting rent.

Yes.

Does anyone else play $400 if you land on go? This can be a game-changer.

Ideally yellow/green corner. Everyone is so concerned with going to jail and if they happen to go to jail instead of landing on you they’ll be coming right back to you in a turn or two.

You buy every property you land on. It’s called monopoly for a reason

If you don't have the cash, mortgage your existing properties for 10% interest. I've borrowed, bought and kept land around Marvin Gardens and Pennsylvania Ave undeveloped to the point where the owner of the other two lots simply conceded the game.

I like a game similar to Monopoly: it’s called, Go To Texas. Fond memories playing that game with my uncle while in Houston.

Definitely not Park Place and Boardwalk.

New York Avenue section is my fav. Gets a lot of traffic from people coming out of jail or just moving on that side. Also gets a freebie from the go back 3 spaces Chance card if someone lands at the Chance spot near free parking.

Baltic or Mediterranean Avenue. Cheap AF, but you can invest in them early and break your opponents spirits when they land on those spots immediately after passing Go, thus negating their $200.

Monopoly can teach you a lot about slum lords an cheap gov housing

Buy any properties you can and don’t buy hotels. Corner the housing market and profit.
