Yeah, jump on the computer for 45 minutes like you did something and call it a day then go do personal errands or see a movie. Seen and heard it first hand. You all think WFH people sit at home and work.. yeah right.
Such a tired jealousy-fueled trope. I often don’t even leave the house for days at a time and respond to emails and other work later in the evenings or weekends.

In my experience these guys/gals are focused and task driven but get pulled from tasks often when in the office.
Yea man. That's an IT exclusive thing. Jesus christ lol

he's obviously still single and no one at work wants to party with him after work hours

My company called everyone back to the office a couple of years ago. I called their bluff and they backed down for me. However, they did get rid of several underperforming employees who refused. I will NEVER work in an office again.

When I first read this i thought it was about xmas and new years and wondered why people wouldn't come to work the week after new years.
Now im wondering why your company waited to get people back into the office almost 5 years later.

The same way you'd know if anyone is productive?
Are you retarded? Serious question.
If you read my post you'd know... I said they're not productive at work either. So they just look for a paid day off and call it WFH.
Understand or do I need to go over it again for you?
And you ask if I'm retarded... typical message board bullshite.

It took more than one person to “draft” that three sentence email?
You obviously aren't management material if you think it only takes one person. It takes a village baw.

Almost as tiring as people bitching about going into work.

It's a legitimate question if you can't figure out how to determine if someone is productive or not at their job.
Whether they are working from home or in office should have little to no bearing on whether or not you can gauge their productivity.

You really believe people achieve the same level of productiveness at home and in the office? Fine. I don't care.

A recent study by the Harvard Business Review found that remote employees are more productive than their on-site workers/ office workers. The reason is that they are less likely to take time off and quit.
Look at those reasons. They don't have to take time off anymore. No need to take time off when you're already home taking time off.
That's funny. Great reasoning.
I'm bored of this conversation. Nobody is changing their minds, so there is no point to talking about it. I think you're wrong. You think I'm wrong. Leave it there and go on with our lives..

I don't believe, I know they can.

It is great reasoning. Happy employees are more productive.
Again. This is all just a jealously thing. You are simply mad because you know people can be productive while also running errands in the middle of the day.

That's not what you were asking. You asked HOW could you determine if someone who was WFH was productive.

I never asked the question how you could determine if someone was productive WFH. Yep, never asked that. Don't make stuff up in your head. Hurts your argument a good bit. It's pretty easy to gauge someone productivity. And what I said it people who are unproductive at work are going to be more unproductive at home.
I didn't finish the sentence and removed it. That's retarded to you? Can you try being a normal talking person maybe?
Just another message board thread... such a waste of time.

quote:Yeah, but it didn't do any good. Some started getting crafty, like always scheduling meetings at vendor's offices in the afternoon and then working the rest of the day from home because the commute back to the office was pointless. Everybody schedules their doctor appointments and PTO on in-office days too.
Are a lot of people in your office grumbling about it? I heard when they tried to do something similar to another unit in the company, people threw such a fit that they eventually decided not to go ahead with it.

Thats the thing, the companies have already gauged productivity, while everyone's been working from home. They hired firms years ago using technology to see what productivity really looked like.
As we all know, most jobs do not require nearly 8 hours a day.
You start by requiring everyone comeback. You will have folks that dont, boom easy cuts there. As time ticks by and things get tighter in the economy companies have the support/evidence they need to target and then let go employees to improve margins without much of a fight.
You start working the math out and theres a lot of fat.
