Remington 1100 12 gauge shotgun when I was 14.
It’s the only childhood present I still own and use.

The best Christmas gift I ever received was given to me my first Christmas at only eight months of age. My parents brought me home from the adoption agency on December 21st and the life, love, and family they have provided for me is without doubt, the best Christmas gift I have ever received.

When I was a kid in the 1970s I had a book called “ The Gunfighters “ that my parents brought me on a trip to Houston. It had these badass illustrations and an old school description of each gunslinger . I read it and reread it and reread it for years .
Two years ago I was talking to my Mom and mentioned that old book . Now, my Mom is a real piece of work , very prickly and difficult and It’s all I can do to not get drunk every time she’s in my presence. To my shock , I received a package ( she never gives me gifts) and opened it on Christmas morning and it was a fresh copy of that old obscure book . Best gift I ever got .

My first Big Wheel. December, 1974. Marilyn Drive, Lafayette.
Worst? Year before. Got a beagle puppy. 30 minutes later, my mom backed over him in the driveway on her way to deliver pies.

My fav was the Tyco Hijacker. This car was so fast, to a 10 year old. Had this thing until I was almost 30, when it finally breathed its last.
Also the 3 n 1 pool table, air hockey, ping pong. Boy did my dad regret buying this noise generator.
