Pride already explained all this for us.
Personally, I get a kick out of people explaining basic concepts like it’s some hidden wisdom. Especially when they pretend to be intellectually superior to everyone else in the room. We have quite a few of these type of folks on TD.

We never went to any of these school sponsored events because it was only fricking weird kids that went. Been that way for years.

He’ll graduate this year from an in-state public HS with a 36 ACT.
Texas A&M, Alabama and even Ms State send him stuff constantly, including specific scholarship information for his test score and GPA.
LSU never sent him anything until he signed up for an engineering tour (on his own) a couple months back.
Okay

People really need to stop complaining about Louisiana’s public school system. I’ve counted at least 10 parents in the past few months with kids with 35+ scores dissatisfied with the lack of attention from LSU.
With so many scholars interested in LSU, these kids need to add something to stand out amongst their peers if they want to stand out.

UA>>>>>>LSU. There's not that much culture in all of NWA.

What is the GPA and ACT score needed to get in? I thought a 3.3 CORE gpa was needed and at least a 24 ACT. Im supposed to believe alllll these Freshman have that it higher?

Your son made a 36 on the ACT and 2 of his 3 options are Ms State and Alabama?

His son scored a 36 on his ACT before he even started his senior year of high school and he’s crying bc LSU didn’t offer him a scholarship as a junior in high school
With a 36 on his ACT and his only other options are Texas ATM and Alabama says a lot about parenting.

I mean it's believable. My kid graduated with a 4.0 and 21 hours towards her bachelors and a 29 on ACT. LSU just doesn't give much to instate kids outside of TOPS. My other daughter just graduated and is at ULL. We saw alot of kids going to put of state schools - Auburn, Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tenn and Vandy.

Did I say those were his only options? I understand you’re an LSU fan with a blood alcohol level that matches his IQ, but do try to keep up.

UNL doesn't look like that...
The demographics of Nebraska are great.

I guess we just got lucky. Both of my kids got full rides to LSU, both with 27 ACT scores.
Posted on 8/22/25 at 8:25 pm to profdillweed
When and what do you mean by “full ride”
Posted on 8/22/25 at 8:25 pm to DrrTiger
If he has a 36 why slum at those schools? That's Notre Dame ,Georgia Tech and Texas #'s. Full ride style....at least that's what got a kid from Northshore those offers this year.
