I'm in a rut as well, but the exact inverse of yours. I just left business school -- going from MBA life back to work in a high pressure industry is hell, plus the adjustment to a new city.

But this too shall pass, just hang in there buddy.

TO be fair he could be going through some depression. If you are depressed, go see a therapist, man. There are a few on campus and they were free for students when I was at Ole Miss, so I imagine its the same for LSU.

It sounds like you may be depressed. Go talk with your doctor. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Maybe if you quit using capital letters incorrectly you may break out of this rut.

Find you a girl that is a little chunky or a pentecostal/mormon girl and get her home. You will be out of a rut in no time flat.

Mormons are the best imo and are always dtf

I don't mean this sarcastically, but is it possible that college is just not for you?

It's probably way too early in the semester to answer that, but your post made me wonder if this is something you're passionate about.

I taught junior college classes for a few years as a part time job to supplement my income, so I'm aware that there are lots of reasons for students losing motivation.

You shouldn't feel a passion for school. It's a necessary evil.

Suck it up and finish. In five years you will either look back on this post with embarrassment for having too much feels or look back on it with regret.

Play the game and realize there is a real world beyond college. Get that silly piece of paper and better yourself.

Start going to church and worshipping God. I did this and my life improved a ton.

do your homework, focus on actually learning your topics, think about your career plan.

ask someone out. love them.

if you do those two you will be fine.

To be fair, a lot of people enjoy the learning parts and the material, but the tests and homework make school un-enjoyable. They actually detract from my learning experience. It would be so much more enjoyable and I'd be light years more passionate about school if I didn't have to study for tests or write ridiculous lab reports.

IMHO, tests should be mainly theoretical and lab reports should be more "tell me what went on in this lab and why".

Eta: In my first major, our junior and senior years were mainly all labs. No lab reports. For tests, we'd give our solution to problems and justify them as best as we could. The bulk of our calculations were done using industry programs and in Excel. It was much easier to learn that way.
