Dude. C.mon. Seriously. These scammers dont care anything about the economy. But you had to make it about that

Police are warning residents about a so-called "gypsy clan" involved in home improvement scams. Police said the scammers are going door-to-door trying to get driveway or roof repair jobs. Investigators said the group has pulled off scams in the area before and they're believed to be back in town.

Police said they believe its part of a gang of eight people who work the area.

Roofing guys come around all the time, my house is only 8 years old.

On the other side, a couple friends and family are busy getting out bids, trying to catch up. Both are in major construction.
Another friend same thing, way too busy with bids. They are part of major construction.

This is gonna sound crazy, but bear with me on this part - the Quarterback gets too much credit when things are going well, and too much blame when things are going wrong.

Just sayin'.

You're not in Rankin/Madison Counties in MS. Folks are spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave. Every restaurant full, every store full. Lines everywhere, lots of new construction.

I was brand new in the trades. When things were slow the guy I was working for would drive around canvassing neighborhoods. He’d have some of us drop flyers at every door but he would scout out ahead and knock at certain houses himself.

He had 101 ways to tell if a homeowner had good credit and or extra cash to spend. It sometimes really felt like we were casing the neighborhood. But we were legit trying to hustle up some work.

Bro scooters and shite like that are your sign.

People are starting to forget buying cars at this point.

We are starting to look like what other countries look like.

We should be good and used to it from the Autopen administration.

Technically correct. While folks may have wanted this and that, they voted for politicians who have done nothing but spend money and passed massive budget bills that have raised the federal debt causing the massive inflation we had. This is both sides of the aisle.

Home construction has cratered.

My issue is the price they are asking to build. Around here, southeast Alabama, they wanted close to $200/sf to build a 2250 sf house on my property that I already own. 450k for a 2250 sf house on my property. That is crazy for a house that probably wouldn't appraise for it when it was done or maybe just over it and I have 6 acres and a big barn already on it.

long time, established, legit professionals sometimes like to see these hiccups because it weeds out some “band wagon” professionals, that jump on in economic booms, just try to cherry pick

I’m doing more renovations than ever since people are staying in their homes longer.

Every market is different. GC’s are created equally.

Had a general contractor stop outside my house today as I was in the driveway doing some stuff and walk up and give me his card trying to hustle business. Asking if we knew anyone that needed work done. I watched him go drop off cards at all the neighbors houses as well. Nice guy with a nice branded GMC HD and branded polo shirt and hat. A short while ago GC’s were too busy to even come give quotes. Now with record low home sales volume they’re driving around looking for business.

The way they treated people a few years ago, I hope they all starve

When 80% of the poli board couldnt understand who actually pays for tariffs we shouldn't really be surprised.
