re: in 2023, what price level lets you know a 'hood is nice/safe?

Before you even arrived to the house, I would be evaluating the nearby businesses that, as resident, you would frequent. In other words, the most important piece of information is the area (location).

For places like that, in the city, I'd say $500,000+. In the suburbs, $300,000+

shite you can’t get a shotgun in the hood under $400k right now. $300,000 in the city wouldn’t have windows and likely has vagrants squatting in it.

You’re going to pay $650k to be in a decent part of town, and not even really nice.
