An old friend has a farmhouse way the frick out in clinton, la.

I would get a bicycle or moped of some sorts and go there, it is not used often but in living shape with all utilities paid and turned on, it's on tons of acreage. I haven't spoken to the guy in a year so I doubt he would ever think to look there.

And even if so I could just grab a tent and camp out miles away from the farmhouse.

I think there also needs to be a clarification on this hypo, so ALL family and friends are now turned against you? You can't have a best friend/relative that even though they know they are supposed to catch you, would offer their help?

Or are we assuming even the closest person to you that you trust is also now compromised? Because with a friend, brother, etc on your side this becomes much easier.

Does everyone know you have an hour and when it starts or is this a scenario where there is a worldwide broadcast saying I've been missing for an hour and they give my last known location? It might make a difference. If I'm in Birmingham there is a limited amount of places I can get to in an hour. You'd pretty much have to steal transportation. Renting a car or even going to a dealership to test drive one and offing the car salesman after you leave is going to leave a trail. Taking your own vehicle won't work.

But if I were near a coastline with a fast boat I might make it to a remote island in under an hour. You'd have to hide it or sink it once you got there though. Somewhere with a dense jungle and caves.

I could hide in the swamp/woods within 500 yards from my house an i'd bet no one would find me.

Additionally, are we talking about a complete manhunt with dogs and infrared goggles or are we just talking about people looking for me?

you need to get somewhere quick that has no foot traffic at all and provides solid shelter.

Aren't there warehouses with winterized boats? Maybe you could find one you have no connection to and go live in one of those houseboats/yachts that is being winterized

If its winter...

If it was just the police and a search party, I can get away pretty easily. But the entire world, that's pretty hard to hide from. If everyone was intently looking for you, you'd have to be somewhere like in the middle of the rainforest, or Alaskan wilderness that has rarely seen humans ever. I doubt I could get there in an hour.

Attic of vacant house is probably the best bet. Getting to the vacant house without leaving a trail would be the problem.

Everyone is looking for you. They have 5 days. Airport's would only serve to fly each person into the country setting up a perimeter of the state. They would close in to a central location and could literally leave thousands of people behind in each square mile to search under/over/within each square mile of the area. It's not possible. Your border states would seal you off from leaving first, then as more people arrive, they would be sent inward on a search holding hands to make sure no stone was left unturned. Hell they could drop off hundreds of thousands of people in 100 different locations with heat scanners to start searching for you in the walls of buildings.

Swamp is still your best bet if you live around BR/south La

No foot traffic, goes on for hundreds of miles, sink the boat, and pirogue that shite into a wooded area.

A manhunt on an even higher level than Osama Bin Laden. If you're even a mile from your house, they'll find you in 10 minutes tops.

Yep

And you'd have to give solid reasons for people to think you went somewhere much further away.

Misdirection is key.

Best I've got... Drop kayak off at MS river. Drive back to house. Ditch phone. Ride bike to kayak. Toss bike in the river. Kayak down the river a ways. Get out. Let kayak keep going. Or go to skydiving facility. Take parachute. Hijack a plane. Once at cruising altitude and autopilot set. Kick pilot out. Jump out into the woods a little while later and let the plane keep going.

The plane thing is getting you caught within a day.

Whats the motivation here?

If they say "$10 million dollars to whoever finds TheCaterpillar" then I'd be fricked.

Hundreds of millions of people would be searching for me and know I only had an hour head start.
