Don't forget gambling started in this country in New Orleans - first roulette table, first poker tournament, first craps table, first riverboat casino, etc. All of Vegas with all their money, casinos, hotels and conventions could be in New Orleans.
That's:
-Disney World
-Delta and all of their business
-Houston's Oil business
-Vegas's Casino money
Added to:
-the nation's most inland Panamax port
-the largest air conditioned manufacturing floor
-the super dome
-the nation's largest supplier of cardboard rolls (those things inside of toilet paper and paper towel rolls)
-the largest offshore oilfield
-(at one time) the largest storage of jet fuel
-the highest capacity for fuel refining
With everything this state has had presented to it over the years, we should be the wealthiest state in the nation.
That's:
