It is a fact that most people that travel to NOLA ultimate do so for the allure of debauchery and vices..

You seem to be agreeing with me that despite higher crime/murder in the early 1990s, the Quarter was safer.

We went to the AMC Palace in Elmwood.
There was a line to get into the actual screen where it was being shown, so I went and stood in line for popcorn while my wife stood in line for the movie to get a seat. The entire time, all she heard were comments like, "that white girl must be lost", "why is that white girl here", and people trying to sneakily take her picture.
If you went Saturday, July 22nd, you would have seen my wife (white) and her friend (white) at that same location. She didn't say anything like that happened outside of it being crowded. If you weren't a bitch you would have stayed at home, like I did, while the women folk watched their women movie.

NOLA as place that people around the country don't see as simply Bourboun St. and what comes with it?
Every city has a main "attraction" that most tourists think about.
NYC you think Times Square. Of course there's more to the city.
Miami you think South Beach. Of course there's more to the city.
On top of that New Orleans is really a tiny city compared to most well known cities in the U.S, so of course Bourbon gets a large draw.
But damn you're dumb if you think that's all there is, and that's all people think about Nola.

No I'm right.....good try though.
I love how this all boils down to personal attacks in the end....typical of this board and this topic.
If there is one truth here....NOLA the city and NOLA the people (residents not tourists) are made for and deserve one another.

Nah bruh...didn't you know NOLA has broken down into complete lawlessness with gangs roaming the streets in complete control of the city???

Sad to hear this. There was a stretch of good feelings and optimism, albeit a short-lived one, just a couple of years ago. I would say from 2009-2014 people were bullish on Nola and its amenities. Not so much these days.

and the funny thing is, very little has actually changed in the city since 2014

I was actually glad to see that. I moved out of N.O. 17 years ago but I go back probably 15-20 times per year for Saints, restaurants and drinking while wandering into the Royal Street galleries.

Maybe stop repeating your same opinion over and over.

NOBODY is suggesting NOLA doesn't have problems. That doesn't mean it's not great in other areas though.
What are you talking about? I don't deny NOLA's virtues and believe they should be celebrated. They are, however, unfortunately used to blind people from reality. "Well at least we have ___ unlike Atlanta!" as if that excuses the shitty attitude across all demographics in the city that puts an artificial, low ceiling on the city.

AMC Palace in Elmwood
This place is starting to get bad too.
I went a few months ago to see the new Fast and the Furious movie and it was exactly like you described with the cellphones, talking, etc. etc. Also the crowd is becoming shady. The reason for this is because it's fairly close to NOLA with the earhart expressway plus all of the trash from the westbank that's close makes its way over.
Go to Clearview AMC in Metairie instead...it's worlds better.
