I'm not getting my paycheck today

Long story short I work in a small office and my boss didn't get my check signed before he left for vacation yesterday.
Everyone else will get their check today. I work at the business office in New Orleans and am the only person on the payroll of the company my boss owns in Lafayette, where the checks were sent to be signed by the admin there.
This is the first time this has happened and it won't hurt me waiting until Monday. It just pisses me off a bit.
How should I handle the situation.

make a joke about it when he gets back. Be like "I had to eat ramen noodles all weekend."
How he responds should dictate next move.
If he's genuinely like "OH shite! my bad" and gets you a check asap, then no worries.
If he's a dick, check his knuckles, then beat his arse.

I did electrical work out of High School and my boss simply couldn't afford to pay me until he got paid from the homeowner. I just sucked it up and threw him a bone. He appreciated it after the fact.

You should quit because your boss isn't smart enough to auto deposit your check. It's basically free.....

Yeah he has some reason for not doing direct deposit that doesn't make sense. I don't know, payroll is done in house and he thinks paper checks are easier.

If it doesn't hurt you why does it piss you off?
Your boss is probably not that concerned, not because he's inconsiderate, but rather because he assumes correctly that you're an adult not living paycheck to paycheck

I guess it's just disrespectful. My boss is an a-hole. If we were friends I wouldn't mind at all and would joke about it like someone suggested.
