Maybe the cold will keep the murder rate down.
Baton Rouge has a higher murder rate than Chicago. So does New Orleans (BR and NO are both top ten). Other cities with higher murder rates:
Kansas City
Birmingham
Atlanta
Savannah
Pittsburgh
Richmond
And about 18 others.

You put up with the winters to enjoy the summers, to an extent.
But yeah, I’ve found my threshold for cold weather and Chicago is below that. So as much as I enjoy visiting the city I don’t have too much of a desire to live there.

The average highs in new Orleans Summers are very similar to the highs in Chicago Summers
Google it
June/July/Aug/Sept monthly average highs
New Orleans: 91/92/92/88
Chicago: 77/82/81/74
Differences of -14, -10, -11, and -14. So no, the highs in the summer in Chicago are nowhere near New Orleans. That was a terrible take.
And Chicago is fricking unreal in the summer. So much fun.

They arent similar at all. They range from 14 degrees to 11 degrees in difference in the summer months. Thats a huge swing man

Except “summer” in NOLA probably starts in like April/May and it’s still 60/70 in Chicago in fricking June.
When I went up last summer in mid-June it didn’t break 70 except one day while I was there that week. In Louisville? It was fricking 98 with a heat index of 101.

Eh I just disagree
It's 50 in new Orleans today. 23 there...That's a big swing
90 in a new orleans summer and 80 in Chicago was very similar feeling to me.

go back six months from now and you'll see.
while we're miserable here in the south, up there it's nice and cool and everyone's out on the beach in the middle of the city. it's pretty amazing.

Not only is there a 10-14 degree difference on average temperature, New Orleans also averages 10-20% more humidity on average than Chicago in the summer

There's kinda nothing to disagree with, it was average highs in each city (factual info). They're not really even close.
You saying that to you they feel similar is something completely different but that's not what you said.

Arts, entertainment, architecture, pedestrian lifestyle, fantastic haute cuisine dining, sports, money, power, and the innumerable joys of the city summer.
It's still brutal when it is that cold, though.
Are you at the Fairmont?
