FCC = Fears Cares and Concerns. It is where your peers/the community bring up issues they are noticing about you. Could be you are breaking this rule or could be you are still engaging in this behavior which will keep you drunk. If you are repeat offender or don't take it well the councilors will get on to you and that can get pretty brutal in the things that they say. If develops into argument or you are repeat offender, you could get wash the fence, rake volleyball courts, lanscape or all sorts of physical labor.
This sounds suspiciously like Maoist self-criticism sessions. Or what the People's Temple used to do.

& Runt, please, let's don't turn this into an argument in this thread,
What? No im genuinely curious. I have a true interest due to multiple family members and have long thought that the medical community has foregone putting major resources into developing new techniques due to the 12 step community
I know what youre getting at i was just sincerely asking if there were other up and coming methods with positive results

AA is bad juju, and not very effective
I don't want to hijack his post, but I do believe for lots of people it is very effective. I personally didn't take the 12 step route per say (I've been to meetings and have a sponsor but not working the steps), but I have lots of sober friends who have and are completely sober and haven't relapsed.
I think if you find a program and it works for you, do it. I think a lot of the reason why AA works is to know you aren't alone. It sucks sometimes to be in a tough spot and be sober. You have to surround yourself with those that understand and I think AA Is a great way of doing that.

SMART Recovery is one to look at. Psychology-based.

I don't know the science behind it, but they take your phone at the beginning so that you don't have the connection to the outside world: friends, family, internet, social media, etc, while you detox and begin therapy. At least that's what I'm told.

Serious question. Do alcholics lack the ability to just address problems? Like you just tell your ex to frick off the first time she shite on you?

Somewhat. If you look at the areas of the brain affected, judgement is a biggie. It has a profound affect on all behavior, including decision making

People with addictive personalities are just wired differently.

Addressing problems isn't the only trigger. It can also be stress. There's a reason why there's a high rate of alcoholism in the military.

whit isn't going to have his phone for quite some time. If he requests it, I can give an update as soon as one is available.
That would be cool buff. Thanks

We are all here for you dude. Get well. There’s not much in my life I’ve done right but getting clean and staying clean was my best decision I’ve ever made. You got this bro. We are all behind you.

I was in treatment wondering how I was going to do this, when I didn’t believe in anything anymore and the counselor told me, just pray for the willingness to believe..
Sometime thereafter I came to the realization I never had to go thru that door again, as long as I did my part, stuck with the program, it was over.
That was in 1984,
