From what I remember, Walnut Creek is near SF. Lots of white people. Moderately upscale area, clean and not many fat people.

Also I should add, that we just provide the tech and data. It takes money and votes to provide the construction.

Unfortunately, in Baton Rouge everyone has a different agenda.

That's common. Origin destination studies, travel times, occupancy studies, parking studies, queue studies,...etc.

So you get paid for studies and don't have job stability in BR?

I know its a running joke here, but DOTD has cut back a lot on studies the last two years. You are correct though, that some studies in the past havent led to actual construction.
A lot of studies have though; just not things like the loop.

Liberalism. Illlegals running rampant through your streets because they are protected. Zero culture. Expensive housing. Other than that it’s a nice place!

Walnut Creek is great! Beautiful area. Mt Diablo parks, 26 mileIron Horse walking/biking trail goes from Martinez to Pleasanton and right through WC. Great schools there too.

All of the shite people are describing as negative are more associated within SF rather than suburbs.

Walnut Creek has a nice downtown, with shopping and restaurants.

Housing is expensive but you might something “affordable” in a townhouse or condo.

If I moved back to NorCal I would live there.

I thought we had a pile of Federal dollars coming in for interstate through town and a big synchronization project with the new parish road tax?

Are you with DOTD? I know an old engineer named Carl H up there. He’s a good old naw.

The parish tax is small potatoes compared to the 17 cent gas tax that was voted down. That tax would have funded everything in the state, including the loop or bridge. I understand why people were hesitant though.

What most people dont realize is, that the 17 cents would have only brought the current tax up to standard rates when considering inflation. It would still be much lower than the vast majority of states.

I do understand, however, the mistrust in the current administration.

It’s a gorgeous little town. You’ll love it.

I go there every summer from Santa Barbara and there is very cool stuff to do. Hiking, biking, Bart to SFran.

Nope. Winters are mild. Summers are a little warm. But low humidity.
Very enjoyable.

I worked there at Bechtel.

Office buildings as far as the eye can see.

The outer limit of Bart.

Contra Costa county
50% dem registration
20% rep
The rest are ind.

You will get to decide between easy commute and close to the action in the city.

As the business and entertainment center for neighboring cities within central Contra Costa County, the city of Walnut Creek provides residents with a rich assortment of amenities that range from shopping centers and farmers markets to great schools and parks. Healthcare and biotechnology lead the economy in Walnut Creek, but the city has a strong collection of small businesses. Walnut Creek earned a spot on our Top 10 Foodie Cities list for its Art and Wine Festival and diverse restaurants. Art galleries, live entertainment and the Gardens at Heather Farm are other top blah blah blah...

its just an hour to the City.

a lot to do for such a teeny burg.

Fwiw, while I learned on Long Island that the City is Manhattan New York, S.F. thinks of itself as the city.
Rick Barry uniform said the city. Oakland = Oaktown = town. Warriors wear both.
They are moving soon again.

I've been in Danville (about 5 or 6 miles south of WC) since the late 80's. Walnut Creek is a nice place with great restaurants and a lot to do downtown. Hard to beat the weather. Politics is obviously more liberal but areas of the San Ramon Valley are more conservative than most of the Bay Area. Housing is the biggest hit at $400-$500/sq ft depending on the neighborhood. Decent commute to SF on BART, an hour drive to the beach, 2.5 hour drive to Tahoe, and an hour to Napa, so good central location. Chevron HQ is in San Ramon and there are a lot of folks from the south out here. Welcome to the hood.
