Not disputing that in the least. Also its much harder to control yourself while eating processed shite because its engineered to make you want more.

This is correct. I was just responding because the guy you said was speaking truth was saying that it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you eat the right amount of calories.

You will both lose weight.
People too often conflate body composition and weight loss, when they are different things.
For most people, losing weight, meaning being in a calorie deficit, is the most important aspect to transitioning into a more healthy life.
We can get into macros and body composition later. But simply losing weight, will improve most people's life, regardless of how they lose it.
