Wouldn't tell anyone: disable all social media, change phone number, and sail off into the sunset with Boats N Hoes
Oh and my job?! Wouldn't tell them shite, just disappear

I would tell no one and I'd keep moving along like nothing changed.

Wouldn’t quit for a while. Would hang around until I got fired for telling people to kiss my arse. So I probably would only make it a day or two.

Lottery winners in Louisiana are not kept confidential.

You have to be more subtle than that. This will get you fired rather quickly.

Nah, winning the lottery is "frick you money." The only people that hear from me after that are my immediate family and like 2 friends. I'd not even waste my time quitting my job in any literal sense, they'd figure out I'd quit because I just wouldn't show up.

Yes. Not even a question. I don’t mind my job at all, but if I won over 20 mil I’m out. I’d tell my parents and brother. Maybe 2-3 others and then bounce.

The number of people I tell will be inversely proportional to the amount of the win.

Same here.
250k after taxes is nothing. That might pay off a few debts or a mortgage, but long term it’s peanuts.
700 million is different, that is life changing money to live like a king or the OT dream of hookers and blow for life. But I am not into hookers or blow so, I probably would start up a construction/engineering company and take on some government contract jobs building things and make more money in the process.

Hard arse me says I would not only quit, I would login and wreak havoc on systems. Then I would quit. Then I would laugh my arse off as my boss calls me begging to come back to fix it.
Normal me says, I would work out a notice, transition one of my direct reports to my position so they could be successful.
Tell my wife and go drink margaritas.

I'd give my two weeks notice so that I could keep my insurance that I currently have. I like the coverage and it's good insurance.
IF they wanted I'd continue my two weeks work time.
During this time I'd feel great knowing there's light at the end of the tunnel.
I'd simply tell them I'm retiring. That's reasonable since at my age (56) I should've already been retired.
This is if I would at least walk away with $20m

If you win the lottery,
-probably won’t
are you quitting your job
-yep. But I won’t quit working
and how many people are you telling?
-not a damn soul. The story will be “so yea, I made some good investments, ya know”. It’s not lying . My good investments? Those 10 investments , $2 each, on one sheet of paper.

If I netted $1M after taxes I'd go ahead and quit. I'm kinda sorta afraid that if I didn't have a job to go to I'd end up going out like Chris Farley.

How much we talking? If enough I would quit my job and start my own company of some kind. Probably commercial real estate.

My new job would be managing my investments and the charitable foundation. I would train one or two of my kids to take over for me and run the charitable foundation eventually, and manage its investments with the investment profits going to their salary and charitable causes we select, while maintaining the assets of the foundation so that it can last a while.

You get your shite together and disappear.
If you win, prisoners will sue you (usually 4-5 suits are filed against a big winner) alleging that you cut some deal with them to share. Frivolous suit, but you have to deal with it. You'll have "cousins" you didn't know existed hit you up for money. Many will think "it is free money, he can give me a little of it."
You'll want to blow some money - do it early and hide out. Visit with your lawyer/accountant.
I know a lawyer who has represented some winners. He always sends them on a junket to get away for a month or two.
He also says that "staying on your job" is almost always a terrible idea.
