I love threads like this. If you banged out a few ladies, and with no contraception, you'd have kids that are older than you.

I’d sell my sure fire cure for scurvy to the east India company for a country estate and a small fortune.

The problem with time travel is going back with currency, or something to barter for currency. For example gold is over 2000 dollars per once now, then it was probably a few bucks. And if you can find currency dated that old, its gonna cost you big bucks. So, how do you solve that?

There was no hunting in the 1700s Europe.

All the game and freshwater fish belonged to the Duke, people were hanged for taking the Duke’s game.

They didnt know about germs then. IE wash hands and tools between surgeries etc. But good luck trying to convince anyone.

I don't think anyone here has mentioned making soap from wood ash and buffalo fat. Without soap, washing isn't going to do much good towards cleanliness and germ figihting

I’m a party planner for four year old birthday celebrations. Confident that will translate to 1700s.

I would revolutionize the safe delivery of babies by washing the vagina and my hands before delivery.

For those of you curious, this wasn’t standard practice until the mid-1800s.

Overall, I feel like I have enough skills to compete with the physicians of that time despite the lack of tools (including medicine and vaccines for smallpox, polio, etc) that would be available.

I could probably, given the constraints of the technology at the time and the lack of regulation, repeat the creation of some form of smallpox vaccine, but I doubt I’d be able to figure out how to create essentially any new medication or other vaccine that would have such significant impact.

Otherwise, I’m sure I could hunt/trap/fish/garden up enough food to not die. I wouldn’t mind taking things apart and putting them back together, and that is a skill that would ideally translate well to most any time period.
