This must suck. What are they doing with the HS students?
College is online, but no graduations?

College a much bigger deal.
Can't get a job most likely.
HS you miss graduation...big whoop.

LSU will have a postponed ceremony.

Um, you still get a degree, even if there's no ceremony.

I’d be upset if I missed my senior year of high school.

I graduated college in 2010 and there were no entry level jobs. These new college graduates are fricked for a good year or two.

I have a niece who is a senior at LSU. They have a choice of participating in a graduation on August 7, or with the fall graduates in December.

I think the poster meant that they would have a difficult time obtaining a job and supporting themselves now that college is over. With everything shut down, getting a job would be very difficult, hopefully all of this changes within the next month
I might be misunderstanding his post

Most probably weren't going graduate anyways

I feel really bad for the high school seniors and their families. Walking across the stage is a huge accomplishment and source of pride for them.

I finished in 2011.
Had no issue with entry level job.
Likely depends on major.
Tourism related kids are screwed.
I'm in chemical manufacturing industry.
We've "retired" lots of experienced folks. Might actually be decent opportunities for entry level roles.

Doesn't mean real $$.
I had a degree in grad school. Supplemented stipend working in a restaurant. I didn't get paid more because I "had a degree". I made the same as the ex con on kitchen line next to me.
As I should have.
You pay for the job not the credentials.

I love this site/board.
We are cool to one another.
I took no offense dude.
Intelligent discussion is great.
I think workplaces being so PC nowadays, creates demand for places like the OT.

My daughter is a Sr and they missed all of their end of senior year milestones. Just got $600 worth of senior stuff like invitations that are useless now.
Her class started high school the year of the flood, started Kindergarten during Katrina and she was born they year of 9/11.

My boy is a HS senior, I honestly feel so bad for him.
I hope this BS goes away soon and they can have something later in the summer at least.
