Good stuff. Just bought a house down at the coast on a great golf course. Closed the deal today.

I guess people here now don’t know what Blackwater was.

I also worked for Triple Canopy.

UT Austin had 91,000 applicants this year. Best friend's son scored 1560 on SAT, did not get into UT Austin. Lives in Austin, both parents are UT grads. Coworker's daughter is going to Harvard. She was rejected by UT Austin. Unless you are a non binary multi cultural lesbian who lost a limb whilst serving sandwiches to Palestinians in Gaza, you are not getting into UT

Degrees from those colleges are equal in the real world. Rankings be damned. It genuinely doesn’t matter.

That said, of course, LSU.

Didn’t Blackwater just have a name change?

If my current self were choosing for my 17 year old self:

1a) Ole Miss
1b) Arkansas
2) OK State
3) LSU
4) OU
5) Mississippi State

My 17 year old self obviously chose LSU because I was chasing pussy and good times. Aaand that’s how I ended up visiting this god forsaken forum weekly for the past ~16 years.

ETA: I’ve lived in both Stillwater and Norman. Stillwater is a very underrated college town (for certain types of kids), but people in Norman are fricking weird in a way I can’t explain.

Probably OU of those choices. I loved my time at LSU but the thought of living in BR now

Is OSU Oklahoma St or Ohio State?

LSU, then.

Plenty of Texans here so you would feel right at home, and you can drive back to Texas any time you want to see the folks.

Plus LSU is pretty cheap. Rated high, believe it or not, on best affordable schools lists.

The Baton Rouge crime is a major turn off. No joke!

Probably Ohio State. Columbus is a big city and lots of job opportunities. And they arent too shabby at football these days.

OU is a really good school academically. But it depends on what they want to study.

Money is not a consideration
At such an early age, I’d try to get a foothold someplace where the cost of living is high. UC Irvine? Pepperdine? UCLA? Colorado? Start an adult life someplace nice, build equity there, then retire down south for peanuts.

Or Arkansas.
