That he did, and I couldn’t imagine how a nation’s military gunning civilians down in the street wouldn’t act as another nail in the coffin for British rule.

And in the end, it took a bunch of farmers from the backcountry of South Carolina to finally get the job done. The one thing The Patriot correctly portrays is the importance and success of the southern militias in keeping the British stuck in South Carolina and preventing their advance north.
More engagements were fought in SC than in any other colony in the war.
