If you can make it to 2050 you might become immortal per scientist

Dr Ian Pearson said human beings are very close to achieving immortality in a number of different ways, but only if you can make it to the year 2050. Anyone who dies before then could be part of the last generation of humans to die of old age.
Dr Pearson said: "By 2050, it will only really be for the rich and famous. "Most people on middle-class incomes and reasonable working-class incomes can probably afford this in the 2060s. So anyone 90 or under by 2060.

There are several ways in which people can live forever, such as renewing body parts.
This could be done in several ways, including genetic engineering that prevents or reverses the ageing of cells.
People may be able to replace vital body organs with new parts.
Scientists around the world are currently working on creating human organs using 3D printers loaded with living cells which could make organ transplants a thing of the past.

I’ll be gone before I can afford the 2060 peasant price.
Hell at that point I’ll be more worried about crawfish prices.

The world cannot sustain everyone living forever. This would lead to an eventual purge.

Only if i can leave this planet afterwards. This one sucks nowadays and can only get suckier

Well, this also takes into account that we survive Singularity, which really any predictions are really out the window. It will be the single biggest advent to happen to our planet since the birth of life itself, and that may choose to wipe us out. AI will be in our lifetime, which is fricking terrifying.

I’ll still be alive if rapture doesn’t happen first. You are suppose to live for 120 years
Posted on 2/19/18 at 7:24 pm to lsu1919
Is that not due to deterioration of the brain’s cells?

I’ll be old AF at that point, damn it.

Can they 3D print me a big penis?

I don't want to live forever. shite I'll be almost 70 by then anyway.

I remember when I was a child and they had the Dick Tracy Watches and how one day we would all have these, Telephones would have screens and we could see each other when we talked. I had trouble imagining how all that would work.

I’ll probably make it to 2049 and get killed by a drunk driver

Accidents, some diseases, and suicides will still kill folks in 2060.
I don’t want to be stuck in an ancient husk.
If I could be like I am now in 2060, sure.
We’re ALL born too early to really enjoy this and I’m skeptical in general.
tl/dr: “Where’s my HoverCar?”, this won’t happen for any of us.

Anything that has a cause can be prevented. If you say otherwise, you are using the "God of the Gaps" fallacy.

We'll have to figure out how to leave the planet and start populating other worlds if this actually happens. Kinda hope it does because it would be cool to watch all that.

People living longer is the opposite of what we need. Think of the countries that are already incredibly overpopulated like India and China.

I'll be 68 in 2050. I'm not sure that I want to live forever though.

So, by the time pleb prices are available I’ll be 76. If my wife is still alive, maybe we’ll do it for a while to finish our travel bucket list.
Can I do this for my dogs, too? Unfortunately, my boys won’t make it that long, but I’m sure we’ll have another dog or two by then.
