Would you say there are instances where other races get privileges because of their minority status?
I wasn't hired by a government entity once because they had to meet their racial quota and I was the white man out.
Nobody wants to talk about that though.

I said this before that I was put on a waiting list for a public college, only to later hear said college was actively seeking black students to enroll.
I guess my privilege was, umm, not sure

We may end up disagreeing here. But I do believe there is some systemic things at work here. For decades, writes had all of the rights. They could go to college and get any job they want. They could buy as much land as they want, etc. Otoh, up until the 70s, there was legit systems in place that prevented black people from having rights. From this alone blacks and whites were definitely not on the same playing field, and the effects of this still shows decades later. This isn't even getting into my thoughts on welfare, the disintegration of the black family unit, and some others
My issue with this is there are certain minority communities such as the Vietnamese who have come to America with nothing since the 70s and are now doing better than blacks on a whole.
Why does every minority community outperform black Americans including actual African Americans (from Africa)?

This is absolutely 100% inarguably false

But I'm white and was harassed by cops a bunch when I was in high school. Was even beat the shite out of when I was a Junior. Just saying what you described is not exclusive to black people. Maybe more common but my white privilege didn't bail me out of those instances.

Are blacks harassed because they're black?
Or does everyone get harassed and blacks assume its because they're black?

So you can say that but the other way can never be said right?
Can you link me to a study showing non-criminal black people being harassed more than anyone else?

What I meant is no one chooses to grow up poor. As an adult well, yea there are obviously people who choose not to work,

White privilege is being able to move into a “nice” neighborhood and be accepted not harassed, made to feel unwelcome, or prone to acts of vandalism and hostility.
Quick question for you . What makes a neighborhood “nice” ?

I'll be honest I don't even know. That type of thing bothers me. All I can say is that in my personal Ive always been dedicated to not just be another negative black statistic. I try to push all of my peers, family and friends to be the best that they can be and to be successful in whatever they pursue. I love to mentor young black men, it's a passion of mine.
I hope I can leave some sort of positive impression in the world, even if it may be miniscule as shite.

I only have 4-5 good white friends outside of work, but most of them have been in the back of a police car, except they were cuffed. I have been arrested twice myself.

I once waived a cop down during Mardi Gras when I purposely walked away from my group, and he gave me a ride to the other side of New Orleans where I could wait for some other friends to pick me up.
Just a couple years ago white friends of mine ran out of gas outside of Jackson MS. His fuel gauge was broke. Cop came by and wrote them a ticket for expired inspection sticker and left. Didn't help them out one bit.

These are the important things.
Without a good foundation in life, most wouldnt be productive citizens, some defeat the odds but not many.

If the black community all thought like you , there would be nobody here discussing this right now.

wo quick examples of white privilege: White privilege is being able to move into a “nice” neighborhood and be accepted not harassed, made to feel unwelcome, or prone to acts of vandalism and hostility. Products white people need for their hair being in the aisle labeled “hair care” rather than in a smaller, separate section of “ethnic hair products.”
Neither one of these is an example of white privilege.
What fricking aisle a hair product is on? What the fricking frick, man

We gonna bitch because the men’s clothing section is separate from women’s clothing? “Hey, why the frick I gotta walk WAY OVER THERE to get my underwear when the panty section is RIGHT HERE, baws?!”

White privilege is being able to move into a “nice” neighborhood
What makes a neighborhood “nice” now days ?
Here in Baton Rouge, Istrouma was once a “nice”, white, blue collar, working class neighborhood in the 50’s and 60’s. The really hard working whites, who managed to save their money, started moving on up (like the Jeffersons) to Glen Oaks in the 70’s . Both were great places, good schools, nice places to raise a family.
Blacks, naturally, wanting to raise their kids in a better area started to move in, whites started rolling out.
Fast forward.
I won’t drive through either area now unless I have to.
Black’s refer to them as bad areas now, call them “The Hood”. They are
striving to move out of the neighborhoods they once considered “good” .
What happened ?
Problem is, it was never the neighborhood . Nothing about the neighborhoods made them intrinsically good.
Turns out, You’ll never have a good neighborhood without good neighbors.

do think black people get profiled by cops more so than white people.
I agree, but there’s a statistical reason for that.
African-Americans commit 53% of murders and 55% of robberies while only being 12% of the population.
TSA profiles people all the time at the airport and no one bats an eye. The fact is sweet old granny in the wheelchair is not likely a threat, but a young middle-eastern male flying alone could be.
