O2 levels are thought to have been 10-15%, in comparison to 21% today. Unless you have a family of cross country runners, any of us would be dead within days for one reason or another. Predation and infection would seal the deal for the rest.

Most would die from poisoning, starvation or accidents long before getting eaten by a dinosaur.

Jurassic. Plesiosaurs were already extinct by the Creataceous, except for inlets in the British Isles apparently.

You'd have to be in some temperate climate in like spring to have even a tiny chance. You can't do the subtropics or tropics because the insects are going to mess you up.

Hell even the Europeans who came to North America in the 1600s struggled with hotter summers and colder winters for awhile. Going back millions of years would mess up anyone.

How big are the skeeters ? I understand that back then they were really huge, so if one got on you it would suck you dry in a coupla minutes. I would be killed by a skeeter.

Judging by my ability to play Ark Survival Evolved, I give my family and I about 10 minutes. That's assuming a favorable spawn point.

You’d probably die pretty quick drinking water with who knows what kind of deadly bacteria in it

I doubt anyone here could last even a week

No weapons, no tools? There are maybe a handful of people on this entire board who wouldn’t die of dehydration within days after shitting themselves delirious because they aren’t capable of making a fire and crafting a container that can hold water for boiling. And then those would all be dead within a few weeks unless they were staggeringly lucky in chancing onto a nearby food source that doesn’t poison them.

I would bet every dollar I have that not a single one of them would still be alive in 30 days. I would also bet every dollar I have that, of the people who didn’t die of dehydration while shitting themselves delirious, basically none of them would have been killed by anything larger than a medium sized dog.

Placental mammals literally evolved during the late cretaceous.

Or the equivalent of living at 7,000' above MSL. Your body would adapt quickly, just like living at altitude.

I've lived at 5,000' for over 20 years. When I showed my bloodwork to a physician who worked at sea level their whole career, they noted that my hematocrit (RBC level) was "somewhat high". I reminded him where I lived and he said, "Oh yeah that makes sense..."

If you could pick your environment, you could pic somewhere with Karst topography (lots of caves). You'd just have to clear the critters out before you moved in. Probably bears, wolves, and reptiles. No problem, right?
