Hiring a bunch of low wage Indian foreigners on visas lol.

95% dead on. The other play is to use contract labor to do the work. If a company actually lets an employee go, it’s not unusual for that employee to be contacted about going back to work as a cheaper contractor. In other cases, employees get rebranded as employees for a contractor and remain in place at the same pay. In one year, they’re let go.

Companies shrug and say “AI layoffs” while quietly backfilling with H1-Bs. The jobs done by H1-Bs like writing code or data science are supposedly the jobs most at risk because of AI. Isn’t that convenient?

If a company can cut your job with no real impact to production or services then you and your skills are expendable.

If you're not making something or fixing something then you better have some kind of quantifiable value or you're toast in today's world.

Time to start looking for jobs that AI can't replace. Get proactive.

Plumber, electrician, etc.....

AI will destroy the financial services employment market.....it all numbers, trends, credit reports, etc....

Hell, my company uses AI bigtime for expense reports, payroll, commission statements, etc.....

The world is changing and FAST......I am not sure the fragile economic system can handle the rapid changes....I'm worried.

AI is crack cocaine on steroids for the negative aspects of capitalism (short term quarterly targets ethos, all things executive compensation bonuses, capital allocation for the C suite).

I am Milton Friedman fan club, btw.
